Nursing Facility:

24-hour Care:

Our Nursing Facility is designed for residents who require 24-hour care and supervision by nursing staff. Our facility is licensed by the State of Iowa and is certified to accept Medicaid and Medicare. Resident care is available on either or a short or long term basis. We have accommodations for 61 residents; 13 beds are in our Special Care Unit.

Intermediate Care:

This level of care is available for residents who require assistance with various daily living skills. Residents may receive help with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and/or feeding. The nursing staff administers all medications and communicates with physicians on the resident’s behalf.

Skilled Care:

This level of care includes rehabilitative care such as physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. Generally, this type of care is for those who have had a stroke, fractures and individuals who need strength training following an acute illness. Residents requiring new tube feeding, diabetic care, and some IV treatments are also accepted. Often times, this level of care, is obtained for a short time and the resident may return safely and comfortably back to their home.

Hospice Care:

This level of care is for those residents who are living with a terminal illness. We are able to keep the individual as pain free and as comfortable as possible in a warm and compassionate setting.

Special Care Unit:

The nursing facility features a Special Care Unit for those afflicted with Alzheimer/Dementia type illnesses. The Special Care Unit provides a safe, caring and supportive, low stimulus environment to appropriately meet the needs of each resident. The staff is specially trained and is continually working to help the residents feel good about themselves. Dementia care is one of the richest areas of human care.... but requires very high levels of ability, creativity, and insight, recognizing the unique way in which each person deal with his or her world- all characteristics of the specialized staff serving our resident in the Special Care Unit.

In addition to nursing services, residents enjoy a full range of services such as nutritious, homemade meals, housekeeping, laundry, a broad range of activities, barber and beauty salon services and social services, including pastoral care.
